Clint Hunter | Digital Marketing Strategist & Co-Founder

20+ Years of Digital Marketing Experience | SEO | Paid Advertising | Marketing Automation

I've worked in digital marketing long enough to remember when getting a website to rank on Google involved very different tactics than it does today.

I've watched search engines change their algorithms, advertising platforms reinvent themselves, and new technology promise to revolutionize marketing every few years.

Some of those changes have been remarkable. Others? Not so much.

One thing hasn't changed: businesses need marketing that brings in customers, not just impressive-looking reports.

I'm Clint Hunter, co-founder of Happy Sandwich Media, a digital marketing agency based in Lindon, Utah. I've spent more than 15 years working in digital marketing, helping businesses improve their online visibility, reach the right audiences, and turn marketing investments into meaningful business opportunities.

My approach is pretty simple. Understand the business, identify what's holding it back, and build a strategy that makes sense.

No templates. No guesswork. No chasing trends just because everyone else is doing it.

My Background in Digital Marketing

My career in digital marketing has included agency leadership, e-commerce, content strategy, search engine optimization, and paid advertising.

Before co-founding Happy Sandwich Media, I served as Vice President of Digital Sales and Marketing at Infinity Marketing Firm. I also worked as Director of Digital Marketing and E-commerce at Cedar Fort Publishing & Media.

These roles gave me experience with different sides of marketing, from managing teams and developing strategies to dealing with the everyday challenges of turning those strategies into results.

Over the years, I've worked with businesses in a variety of industries, including professional services, home services, health and fitness, dental, and e-commerce.

I've also seen what happens when businesses invest heavily in marketing without understanding whether their campaigns are actually working.

That experience has shaped how I approach marketing today.

The best strategy isn't necessarily the most complicated one. Sometimes a business needs better advertising. Sometimes its website is the problem. Sometimes it has plenty of leads but no reliable process for following up with them.

Knowing the difference matters.

What I Specialize In

Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

SEO has been a major part of my professional career.

I've worked through years of Google algorithm changes, evolving content strategies, and the industry's repeated attempts to find shortcuts to better rankings.

Today, my focus includes local and national SEO, technical optimization, content development, and improving visibility in AI-powered search.

I believe effective SEO begins with understanding what customers are searching for and why. Rankings and traffic matter, but they need to support the business.

An article that attracts thousands of visitors who will never become customers isn't necessarily more valuable than one that brings in a handful of qualified prospects.

Google Ads and Meta Advertising

Paid advertising can be an effective way to grow a business. It can also be an effective way to waste money.

I've worked with Google Ads, Facebook, and Instagram campaigns, helping businesses improve their targeting, messaging, conversion tracking, and lead quality.

One of my biggest concerns with the advertising industry is the tendency to focus on metrics that look good without asking whether they're producing meaningful results.

A low cost per lead sounds great. But what happens when none of those leads answer the phone, book an appointment, or make a purchase?

At Happy Sandwich Media, we approach paid advertising as part of a larger sales and marketing process, not an isolated activity.

Marketing Automation and Lead Management

Generating a lead is only the beginning.

I've worked extensively with marketing automation platforms, including GoHighLevel and HubSpot, to develop systems that help businesses manage leads, communicate with prospects, and improve follow-up.

These systems can include automated email campaigns, SMS messaging, CRM pipelines, lead qualification, appointment scheduling, and conversion tracking.

Technology can make these processes more efficient, but only when the underlying strategy makes sense.

Automating a bad sales process just makes it bad faster.

Content Strategy and AI Search

I've been involved in content marketing long enough to remember article spinning, keyword stuffing, and the days when businesses could publish enormous amounts of mediocre content and still see results.

Artificial intelligence has made producing content easier than ever. Unfortunately, it has also made producing generic content easier than ever.

I believe the opportunity today is to create content that demonstrates real knowledge, answers meaningful questions, and gives customers a reason to trust the business behind it.

That philosophy guides my work in content development, traditional SEO, and Generative AI Search Optimization.

Why We Started Happy Sandwich Media

Businesses have more marketing options than ever.

They can hire agencies, freelancers, consultants, or internal marketing teams. They can invest in search, social media, video, email, and dozens of other channels.

Yet many still struggle with the same basic problem: they don't know which marketing activities are actually helping them grow.

Happy Sandwich Media was built around the idea that marketing should be customized to the business, not forced into a predetermined package.

Before recommending services, we want to understand the business, its customers, its goals, and its budget.

Sometimes that means improving an existing campaign rather than starting from scratch. Sometimes it means addressing a website problem before spending more money on advertising.

And sometimes the most valuable thing we can do is tell a business what it doesn't need.

Our goal isn't to sell every service we offer. It's to identify the services that are most likely to make a difference.

My Perspective on the Marketing Industry

I've seen the industry change dramatically, but I keep coming back to a few principles.

Experience matters. Tools can generate recommendations, but understanding when those recommendations make sense requires judgment.

Traffic isn't the same as revenue. Marketing needs to attract the right people and give them a reason to take action.

Content should demonstrate knowledge. Publishing more material doesn't automatically make a business more authoritative.

Marketing requires accountability. Agencies should be able to explain what they're doing, why they're doing it, and how they're evaluating success.

There is no universal marketing strategy. What works for a local electrician may be completely wrong for a national dental company or an e-commerce store.

Those principles influence how I evaluate marketing opportunities and how our team approaches client projects.

Articles and Marketing Insights

I regularly write about digital marketing, search engine optimization, advertising, and the challenges businesses face when trying to grow.

Here are a few of my articles:

I don't believe every marketing article needs to reinvent the wheel. But it should give readers something useful: a better understanding of a problem, a practical solution, or a perspective they haven't considered.

Let's Talk About Your Marketing

If you're looking for a marketing agency, I'd encourage you to ask questions.

What is the strategy? How will success be measured? Who is managing the work? And how will you know whether your investment is paying off?

Those are reasonable questions. You deserve reasonable answers.

At Happy Sandwich Media, we work with businesses that want practical marketing strategies, transparent communication, and a team that understands the connection between marketing and sales.

Whether you're struggling with SEO, spending money on ads that aren't converting, or trying to build a more effective marketing system, we'd be happy to discuss your options.
